A Pair of Impressionistic Paintings

Toothpaste and Cheez-Its

Acrylic on 8x12" canvas sheets. Both done in one afternoon. I wish I could paint like that everyday!

New Paintings

I finally got around to painting again. These were supposed to be practice paintings and so I did them on canvas sheets instead of stretched canvas.

Avocado

B is for Bananas

A Whole Bunch

Lime Sourball

And my favorite one so far...
Silver Cup with Grapes

There were others but they didn't make the cut, lol.

Chili Pepper, Garlic, and Tomatoes painting

Another vegetable still life 12 x 16, acrylic on stretched canvas. Based on my original photo. I think I like this background more than the last one.

Cherry Tomatoes painting

Cherry tomatoes. So much more delicious than grape tomatoes! Lol. I just finished this 11 x 14" acrylic paint on stretched canvas. Very happy with it! Mixing white is coming in handy.

7-4-16 Latest version: (It looked like it was missing something so I added a tomato top!)

(First version)

(From this morguefile.com reference photo which I obviously cropped.)

Gay Pride Cake painting

I did this original 12" x 12" x 1" painting in reaction to the shooting at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando. It will be going on ebay for auction and part of it goes to charity in support of the LGBT community. I kept the theme of this a happy one even tho I did it with the victims in mind.

The sides have the words "Love is Love" and "GAY PRIDE" on them.
(I think I may include words more often on my paintings in the future).

Fortune Cookies Designs

I wanted a phone case with fortunes from fortune cookies on it. But I couldn't find one. So I made a few designs myself. These are on redbubble and look great on other products too. I bought myself the last one below for my phone. Link to see my portfolio =>

French Donut Before and After

I thought it was finished but I decided I didn't like how green it was and wanted to make it a warmer orange. And it was easy! Wasn't a pain to do at all, and only took a short time. I'm much, much happier with it now.

French Honey Dip Donut

The last in this group of single donuts. I want to move on to other subjects. These were fun to do and it helped me with self-discipline and speed. Maybe now I can focus more on slowing down and doing more involved work.

Glazed Donut painting

I did this today from life. It doesn't look like the actual donut, but I still like the end result. I guess i still have to work on better color matching. Neatness doesn't matter, but color and value do. And try to pay attention to brush stroke textures.

Jelly Donut Bite and Cream Donut Bite paintings

I did these in the last 2 days. I've been trying to improve my self-discipline. Finishing these in a short time made me feel great. I was experimenting and practicing with style, color combos, and values. The cream one is from my reference photo, and the jelly is out of my imagination. Each acrylic painting is on a 6" x 8" canvas panel. Happiness is always donuts!!!

Pizza Box and Menu painting

12 x 16" still life painting of a pizza box and menu. Abstract style, acrylic paint done on a stretched canvas with sides painted black. It's ok, but there were many mistakes, so I learned a few things.

Fortune Cookies and Rice painting

Still life painting done yesterday afternoon at my kitchen table. I only had one cookie, so painted one, then broke it and painted the other one, lol. Acrylic on stretched canvas, 12 x 12". I had to adjust the cookies toward the end because the one in shade was too light and the other was a bit too dark.

Birthday Cake Still Life Painting

I made this cake for my boyfriend's birthday (50) and within 24 hours it became a model for a still life painting!

It's acrylic paint on a 12" square stretched canvas. Done in one afternoon! I like doing quick paintings--leaves less time for mulling it over, artist block, and negative thinking to creep in. Just set it up and DO it! That's what works for me lately.

Rice and Beans Still Life Painting

Another still life done at my kitchen table. I like doing this "pairs from the pantry" art!

Acrylic paint on a stretched canvas, 12" square. Textured with gesso then painted from life.
